Hans Arp introduced the idea of using an element of pure chance in the creation of an art work and artists of the Dada movement regarded chance as a liberating experience. Each time you press the button you get a different random arrangement. Chance may inspire us to develop ideas for our own artistic productions.

Dada art works involve chance and choice. Can there be accidental art? It is an attractive notion and artists tend not to worry about logic. But we do not choose to have accidents; accidents happen. And artists might choose to designate the consequences of an accidental breakage a work of art. But best warn the cleaner before it gets swept up.
